Sprayed Concrete Tanks

Sprayed concrete tanks are made of a cement-rich mortar reinforced with layers of steel mesh, with additional plain wire reinforcement for added strength and flexibility.

Sprayed concrete water tanks are built on site with concrete conical roofs. The conical roofing is also made from reinforced concrete and the inside of the tank is completely enclosed. This inhibits any algae growth and ensures excellent water quality, with the water temperature remaining consistently cool throughout the year.

The calcium content of the concrete tank interior neutralises the acidic rain caught. Water from a sprayed concrete tank will normally have a neutral pH of 7-8 compared to an acid pH of 3.5-4 found in other tanks. Acidic water can prematurely corrode surfaces.

Sprayed concrete tanks are able to withstand impact and shock due to the slight flexibility of the material. This means our tanks are built to withstand the test of time!

They are available in the following sizes:
20,000 litres (4,400 gallons), 50,000 litres (11,000 gallons and 100,000 litres (22,000 gallons).

Construction
ClearWater Concrete Tanks are built on site using engineered specifications. The walls are built using pre-tensioned reinforcement and sprayed using 45-50MPA concrete. For the floor, 32MPA ready mix concrete is used. The roofs on the larger tanks are supported by concrete piers. Tanks are completed with an attractive stipple finish.

Construction includes quality brass fittings plus man-hole access. The water entry and overflow points are to be determined in consultation with yourself/plumber.

Site Preparation and Construction
We require a level site. It is the customer’s responsibility to provide a solid level area approximately 11 metres in diameter per tank with 50mm of crusher dust spread as level as possible.

Reasonable access required for vehicles. For underground water tanks, a ramp must conform to WorkCover safety requirements.

It takes approximately 5 days to build – for use within 12 days of commencement.
